Wellness Consultation

About This Service

A veterinary wellness examination is a routine health check designed to assess your pet's overall wellbeing, detect early signs of disease, and discuss preventative care. We bring the full examination to your home, calm, unhurried, and away from the stress of a clinic, and finish with an individualised plan to support your pet's long-term health and comfort.

Wellness Consultation

What's Included & How It Works

  1. 01

Book online or call us, choose a time that suits your household.

  2. 02

Our vet arrives and settles in calmly with your pet, beginning with the basics: weight, body condition, hydration, and temperature.

  3. 03

A full nose-to-tail wellness examination follows: eyes, ears, mouth and teeth, skin and coat, heart and lungs, abdominal palpation, lymph nodes, and an assessment of mobility, joints, and muscle condition. The aim is to detect early signs of disease, often before they become obvious.

  4. 04

We then talk through everything that supports your pet's long-term health: diet and nutrition, behaviour and lifestyle, parasite prevention, and where your pet sits with vaccinations.

  5. 05

You leave with a written summary of findings and an individualised wellness plan to shape the year ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

A full physical exam: weight, body condition, hydration, and temperature; eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, skin, and coat; listening to the heart and lungs; abdominal palpation; mobility, joints, and muscle condition; lymph nodes and overall physical health. The aim is to detect early signs of disease, often before they become obvious, and to talk through diet, behaviour, parasite prevention, and vaccinations so we can shape an individualised plan for your pet.

We'll discuss your pet's vaccination status as part of preventive care planning (what they're due for and when), but we don't administer vaccines at the visit. If your pet is due, your regular vet or a clinic that stocks vaccines is the right place. We're happy to refer you if you don't have a usual vet.

Healthy adult pets due for a routine check-in, senior pets where regular monitoring matters, anxious pets who find the clinic stressful, and multi-pet households where one home visit can cover everyone. Early detection of disease is particularly valuable in older pets, where small changes can be easy to miss day-to-day.

Yes, we can collect blood samples on a case-by-case basis and send them to an external lab. Results typically come back within a few days. We'll discuss whether testing makes sense as part of the visit.

A wellness consultation is for healthy or generally well pets, preventive review, early detection, and lifestyle advice. A Quality of Life consultation is specifically for pets where families are weighing comfort, palliative care, or end-of-life decisions.
